Exam Pattern & Selection Process
The selection process for IAF Group Y Medical Assistant consists of the following three phases:
Phase I: Online Written Test
- Subjects: English (as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
- Duration: 45 Minutes.
- Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer, 0 for unattempted, and 0.25 negative marks for each wrong answer.
- The paper will be objective type and bilingual (English & Hindi), except for the English paper. Normalisation will be applied.
Phase II: Document Verification, PFT & Adaptability Tests
Candidates qualifying Phase I will be called to designated Airmen Selection Centres (ASC) for Phase II.
- Physical Fitness Test-I (PFT-I): 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 Minutes (For candidates up to 21 years) and within 7 Minutes 30 Seconds (For candidates above 21 years holding Diploma/B.Sc Pharmacy).
- Physical Fitness Test-II (PFT-II): 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, and 20 Squats to be completed within 1 minute each, with prescribed resting periods in between.
- Adaptability Test-I: Objective type written test to assess suitability for IAF employment in varied conditions.
- Adaptability Test-II: To select candidates who can adapt to the environment of the IAF and military way of life.
Phase III: Medical Examination
- Height: Minimum 152 cms.
- Chest: Well proportioned with a minimum expansion of 05 cm.
- Vision: 6/36 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye. Maximum limit of Refractive Error is +3.50D including Astigmatism. Colour Vision: CP-II. History of LASIK/PRK is not accepted.
- Dental: Healthy gums, good set of teeth, and minimum 14 dental points.
