Note: Out of the total vacancies, 4 posts are reserved horizontally for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) across LD, VH, HH, and MD categories (1 post each). Furthermore, as per MP Government directives, the recruitment results will be divided into two segments: Main Part (87% - 34 Posts) and Provisional Part (13% - 5 Posts) pending the final decision of the Hon'ble Court.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- A Bachelor's Degree (4-year duration) from a recognized university or institute in one of the following disciplines: Town Planning, Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Housing Planning, Rural Planning, Infrastructure Planning, Transport and Traffic Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or Environmental Planning.
- OR Post Graduate Degree (M.Plan) or successfully passed the A.I.T.P. Examination.
- Important Note: Candidates holding a B.E. or M.E. degree in Transport and Traffic Engineering are NOT eligible for this post.
Age Limit (as of 01.01.2027)
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 40 Years
- Age Relaxation: A maximum relaxation of 5 years (up to 45 years) is granted to SC, ST, OBC, Government Employees, Women candidates, and PwBD candidates native to Madhya Pradesh, as per government rules.
Employment Registration
Candidates native to Madhya Pradesh must possess a valid, live registration with the Employment Exchange Office of Madhya Pradesh. However, candidates from other states are exempted from this requirement as per the Hon'ble High Court order.

Salary / Pay Scale
The Assistant Town Planner is a Gazetted Class-II (राजपत्रित द्वितीय श्रेणी) post. The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary in the Pay Scale of ₹ 56,100 to ₹ 1,77,500.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on the following two stages:
- Written Examination: An OMR-based objective type examination will be conducted at centers in Indore. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Interview: Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for an interview. The interview carries 100 marks. The minimum qualifying mark in the interview is 41 for Unreserved categories and 31 for Reserved/PwBD categories.
The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined scores obtained in the written exam and the interview.
