Educational Qualification
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (12th) examination from the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh, or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Government.
- Preferential Qualification (In case of equal marks):
- Served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years.
- Obtained an NCC 'B' certificate.
- Obtained a certificate in Computer Application from an institution recognized by Central or State Govt.
- Represented the state in any sport.
Age Limit
- Candidates must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have crossed 40 years of age as on the 1st of July of the calendar year in which the vacancies are advertised.
- Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxation applies for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, and outstanding sportspersons as per UP Government rules. State Government employees get a 5-year relaxation.
⚙️ Selection Process
The selection will be done in multiple stages based on the UP Group 'C' Direct Recruitment Rules 2015 and the UP Forest Department Subordinate (Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard) Service Rules 2015.
1. Written Examination (Mains)
The written examination will consist of a single objective-type multiple-choice paper. Candidates equal to 15 times the category-wise vacancies (including all candidates tied at the cut-off marks) will be shortlisted based on PET-2025 normalized scores.

2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
Conducted for candidates who clear the written exam. This is qualifying in nature.
- Male Candidates:
- Height: 168 cm for UR/OBC/SC; 160 cm for ST candidates.
- Chest: 84 cm for UR/OBC/SC; 82 cm for ST candidates. (Minimum 5 cm expansion is mandatory for all).
- Female Candidates:
- Height: 152 cm for UR/OBC/SC; 147 cm for ST candidates.
- Weight: 45 to 58 Kilograms.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Conducted for candidates who pass the PST. This test is purely qualifying in nature and does not affect merit.
- Male Candidates: Must complete a 25 km run carrying a 10 kg weight within 4 hours.
- Female Candidates: Must complete a 14 km run within 4 hours.
4. Medical Examination
Candidates passing the PET will undergo a medical exam conducted by a Medical Board constituted by the Chief Medical Officer at designated Community Health Centers or District Hospitals. The board checks for knock-knee, bow-legs, flat-feet, varicose veins, near & distant vision, color blindness, hearing tests including Rinne's test, Weber's test, and vertigo. The medical exam is strictly qualifying.
📝 Crucial Application Instructions
- EWS Certificate Validity: Candidates applying under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) must possess an EWS certificate issued between 01-04-2026 and 20-07-2026. The certificate must be based on the income of the financial year 2025-26 and valid for the financial year 2026-27.
- Caste/Reservation Certificates: Candidates claiming reservation must possess the relevant certificates issued on or before the last date of application (20-07-2026) in the prescribed format.
- Modification Rules: After final submission, candidates can modify only specific fields (correspondence address, horizontal reservation categories, EWS, optional qualifications, and marital status) till 27-07-2026. Other primary details fetched from PET cannot be changed.
- Normalization: If the written examination is held in more than one shift/day, the normalization of scores will be applied as per the commission's guidelines dated 22 May 2019.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC): Candidates already serving in Central or State Government must obtain an NOC from their employer and present it when demanded by the commission.
- Multiple Applications: If a candidate submits multiple applications, only the final submitted application will be accepted; all other previous applications will be rejected.
