Bihar Home Guard Adhiinayak Anudeshak Recruitment 2026 – Overview

The recruitment consists of two stages. Written Exam is qualifying in nature; the final merit list is prepared solely on the basis of PET marks.

The PET carries a total of 100 marks and consists of three events: Race (50 marks), Shot Put / Gola Fend (25 marks), and High Jump / Unchi Kood (25 marks). The final merit list is prepared entirely based on PET marks. Candidates must qualify ALL three events separately.

Important: Candidates who complete the Race within the time limit but fail to clear the minimum qualifying standard in Shot Put and/or High Jump will be disqualified and will not be allowed to participate in further events. A maximum of 3 attempts are allowed for Shot Put and High Jump. Transgender (Third Gender) candidates will follow the same physical standards as Backward Class (BC) category.
đ Merit List & Final Selection
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the three PET events (Race + Shot Put + High Jump = 100 marks). In case of tie:
- Older candidate (higher age / earlier date of birth) will be ranked higher.
- If DOB is also equal, the candidate with higher educational qualification will be ranked higher.
- If education is also equal, the candidate with higher marks in Intermediate (or equivalent) exam will be ranked higher.
- If all above are equal, the candidate's name in alphabetical order (English) as per 10th Board certificate will be used.
Finally selected candidates will be recommended by BPSSC to the Commandant-General, Bihar Home Guard & Fire Services, Bihar, Patna for appointment. Before joining, all selected candidates will undergo medical examination, character and antecedent verification by the appointing authority.
